Lifting weight and spirits

$7,000, the single largest donation ever received by Hannah’s Care Packages, was raised by a group of people who love lifting weight, but love their community even more. This donation will go a long way in helping ease the burdens of families with children facing unspeakable illnesses. Seeing tons of PR’s and big lifts is always a highlight of an event like this, but the real takeaway was the connection these lifters made with the families of children impacted by this charity. That’s what Anchored In Iron is all about. While we couldn’t have pulled this off without Iron Mafia and several other huge helpers, each and every lifter made this event what it was.

While there were several incredible lifts and huge numbers, we had a few finish with an awesome total. We had Matt Pack finish with a total of 1920, and Taylor Ball finish with 1003. We also had several big wins in several divisions.

We also want to give a big shoutout to Patti and Colin from CFSS for competing yesterday. This was Colin’s second competition, and while his wife wasn’t able to compete, he stepped in and took her spot. And Patti took the plunge and competed for the first time. She said “Yesterday was my first ever powerlifting event and I only had seven weeks to train for it. I was really nervous not knowing what to expect but I had an excellent time. It was so much fun and I’m already trying to figure out the next one! Ryan is such a great coach, I couldn’t have done it without him. Accessory work is where the magic happens!!”. Proud of you two!!

We can’t wait to host this event again next year, and hope to see an even bigger turnout of CFSS members to compete. Thanks again to Iron Mafia, and to Hannah’s Care Packages, we are so glad we can help you guys make a difference in so many lives.
