Community Is Everything

For those who have never heard of the program “Shop with a Cop”, it’s a long-standing tradition here in the Winchester community. Children from families with limited means may not always get to experience Christmas like some of their peers at school. Shop with a Cop is an event that lets them go with a local police officer to shop for toys and necessities so they can have a great holiday season. While the children love it, it’s equally rewarding for our law enforcement community. But the entire program is run on donations, and wouldn’t be around without the help of the community.

Tonight, CFSS member Dezi Broyles hosted an event at CFSS just for the kids in our community. All the money raised was going to the Shop with a Cop program. And while Dezi helped organize the event, it wouldn’t have been a success without a lot of other people coming together. The band “Synth Lab 1984” came and rocked some awesome 80’s tunes for everyone, Madison Wells baked tons of cupcakes and cookies for the event, and tons of local people and businesses donated gift cards and goodies for an array of gift baskets to auction off. There was a lot of help behind the scenes, but anytime we get the chance to see our Clark County families come together for a cause, it makes us so proud to be a part of the community. Dezi and her siblings took part in the program as children, so once she had the ability, she wanted to give back, which couldn’t make us happier.

If you would still like to donate but couldn’t make the event, contact Dezi or Dustin Broyles. No donation is too small, and it all stays right here in the Winchester community.
