“Deep tissue massage is best suited for people who engage in highly physical activities, such as running, or those who have an injury or chronic pain.
Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue.
It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.“
When many people hear the word “massage”, they automatically think about an expensive spa, with fluffy bath robes, and a soft and gentle massage that will cause you to fall asleep. Deep tissue is a different ballgame. It’s a bit more of a delayed gratification, but you will feel world’s better afterward. When you’re working out at the intensity we do at CFSS, you’ll develop stiffness and knots in places you didn’t realize were possible at times. But a good masseuse will alleviate these issues. Good stretching before a workout, regular yoga practice, chiropractic care, and strategic rest days help, but this will take your recovery up another notch.
Miriam is now operating multiple days a week at CFSS, and we highly recommend trying out a deep tissue massage if you haven’t already. We promise, you won’t regret it.
